Description:Introduction
Save the Children UK (SCUK) has been operational in Ethiopia since 1973 and is one of the largest International NGOs in the country. Currently SCUK operates a programme that straddles relief to development with a wide range of programmes that encompasses three thematic areas: Hunger, Health/HIV-AIDS and Education. In order to promote the fulfilment of children's rights, the programme works to ensure quality programming on the ground forms the basis upon which to advocate for greater changes in policy and practice by key duty-bearers at regional, national and global levels. The programme is organised into four main departments: Policy, Planning and Programme Development (PPPD), Operations, Finance and HR/Administration. Chief of Party for the Afar Pastoral Pilot Productive Safety Net Programme is under Operations Department.

The Chief of Party is responsible to ensure the approved projects within the PAP Programme are delivered according to the contractual requirement of USAID. Responsibilities include, develop and regularly update detailed annual work plans with project implementation and ensure this is used by the whole project team to monitor project progress towards completion, prepare a realistic budget, authorize and monitor expenditure. S/he is responsible to highlight and prepare documentation for any project modifications, amendments or extensions which require donor and/or Government consent and approval, ensure programmatic and financial reports for donors, government and Save the Children are prepared as required. S/he is also responsible to monitor and support all project staff in implementing the project, regularly undertake high level representation and advocacy with Government partners and officials as well as donor representatives and other external visitors.

To be successful in this role, you will need a Masters in Agriculture, Economics, Social Sciences and others related. S/he must have two years experience USAID Grant management and preferably management of title II USAID funding, experience of high level of government representation, networking skills with the ability to liaise well with a wide range of individuals from different background and cultures, possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal), excellent information technology knowledge and use of Excel and Word programmes, fluency in written and spoken English.
