| Description: | Head of Region (Africa),
Salary range: £34,469 - £36,283 and communities in the world's poorest countries. We aim to overcome poverty and injustice by encouraging children to claim their rights. . Our community projects are funded through the support of official funding sources, charitable trusts and companies and donations, but mainly from over 119,000 supporters who sponsor a child with us You will lead a regionally focused team of programme officers (POs) within our Programme Department. You will be responsible for the development of Plan UK's programme work at country & regional level covering two Plan regions of Francophone West Africa & East & Southern Africa, ensuring alignment with global themes whilst seeking to maximise income opportunities with key donors. you will take particular responsibility for developing relationships with and securing funding from multilateral organisations for Plan UK programme work as well as maintaining and developing strong working relationships with Plan's Country Office teams. The successful candidates will have substantial experience of institutional fundraising with specific experience of EC, DFID and/or multilateral donors such as UN and World Bank. They will be able to present Plan externally at the highest level and have a successful track record of initiating and developing successful high quality project proposals. They will possess excellent conceptual skills and will be motivated by leading and motivating staff to increase and maintain a high level of performance. Fluency in English and French (spoken & written) is essential.
