| Description: | Landmine Action is advertising for the post of Reintegration Officer for its field programme in Liberia. The project has been in operation since September 2006 and deals with the identification, agricultural training and community reintegration of ex-combatants who have missed the DDRR process.
Training takes place on two sites in Liberia; the Reintegration Officer will be responsible for liaison with the Ministry of Agriculture, the management of all project activities, staff and attendant budgets and the provision of detailed advice and reports to the Country Manager.
Terms of Reference
The Reintegration Officer will report directly to Landmine Action's Liberia Country Manager and will work with the Project Management Committee. The Management Committee is a joint Landmine Action and Government of Liberia (GOL) body responsible for the design and implementation of the Tumutu Agricultural Training Project (TATP) and the Sinoe Agricultural Training Project (SATP).
Provide technical expertise and advice in the design and development of the training curriculum. This will include agricultural, social reintegration and literacy and numeracy components
Provide close supervision of the daily running of TATP and SATP and the teaching of the curriculum in order to ensure the best possible delivery of instruction
Design the individual reintegration packs for graduates
Design and supervise the reintegration of graduates
Supervise the daily work of any interns assigned to TATP and SATP
Fulfill other duties as requested by Landmine Action's Liberia Country Manager
Landmine Action will provide accommodation and field per diems when appropriate for the Reintegration Officer whilst in Liberia
All communications and reports generated by the Reintegration Officer under the TATP and SATP should be treated as confidential and should not be shared with organisations external to Landmine Action without the prior approval of Landmine Action's Liberia Country Manager. Landmine Action will retain the copyright / ownership of written material generated by the Reintegration Officer under the TATP and SATP
The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, an agricultural background and experience working in difficult environments.
