Description:SOS-Kinderdorf International is in the process of recruiting a new Regional Director to lead the LACE Region (Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean), encompassing 156 programmes in 10 countries, replacing a retired co-worker.

The Regional Director supports the development of strong, locally rooted member associations, soundly affiliated to the SOS-Kinderdorf International Federation. He/she
• actively participates in the strategic development of the association through his/her membership in the national boards;
• has a leadership role in the national/regional strategic planning process;
• provides functional support through the functions in the Regional Office.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Support of national management development and organisational development
• Support in strategic and national annual planning including operational and financial planning according to the operational and finance strategic plan of the organisation
• Monitoring and evaluation of the progress of the national plan including the set-up of capacity building measures where applicable
• Leadership of the Regional Office, managing performance and ensuring development of direct reports

Qualifications and experience:
• At least 5 years in a leading role, managing a team in a diverse environment
• Understanding and experience of the non-profit sector / the SOS Children's Village organisation
• Experience of working in Latin America
• Proven ability to develop high performing teams
• Experience in dealing with governance issues
• Good analytical and organisational skills, strategic planning and negotiation skills
• University degree in Business Administration and / or Social Sciences
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Ethical standards, integrity, objectivity, confidence and the ability to get the respect of peers and supervisors
• Strong commitment to the goals of SOS Children's Villages and the vision to put them into practice
• Willingness to travel frequently
• Willingness to change working location every 5 years
